I am familiar with the court related options available to families in both Provincial and Supreme Court. Prior to becoming a family mediator I had a 19 year nursing career (BScN) working with sick children and their families, in crisis, in Children’s Hospitals across Canada. My strength is in my ability to work well with people. I am a Certified Comprehensive Family Mediator (Family Mediation Canada) which acknowledges the specialized training required to assist families with their property and asset division, in addition to all the planning required for parenting their children from two homes. Spousal support and property and debt division requires particular skill and attention. My mediation practice allows families to dramatically reduce their legal fees since we accomplish the bulk of the separation work in our sessions. I encourage my clients to obtain legal advice from their lawyers at various times throughout the mediation process.

Experience:

I obtained a Certificate in Conflict Resolution, Mediation and Negotiation from the Justice Institute of BC in 1998. I have also completed specialized studies in parent-teen mediation, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health issues, and high conflict divorce. I am the coauthor of the mediation course “Mediating the Financial Aspects of Separation and Divorce� and am on faculty at the Justice Institute of BC.
